While pursuing a bachelor of science in agricultural business and economics from Oklahoma State University, James McSpadden began his political career as a member of Brad Henry’s successful gubernatorial campaign, which led to a position as a member of Governor Henry’s personal staff.
McSpadden also served as a staffer for Congressman Dan Boren and Senate President Pro-Tempore Mike Morgan before joining McSpadden & Associates in 2004. The latter, a firm founded by James’ grandfather Clem McSpadden in 1983 and managed by Bart McSpadden, laid the foundation for a successful career representing small, state-run associations to Fortune 100 companies.
Many of the clients McSpadden represents today have been represented by three generations of the McSpadden family spanning more than 30 years.
Today, McSpadden in active in various capacities for civic and charity organizations, particularly, those that benefit rural communities. He resides in Oklahoma City with his wife, Joanna, and their two children.
